The Somos Defensores program, of which Benposta is a part, presents a new report to the country, the title of which reflects the complexity of the Colombian reality. "In this theater of shadows in which the dramatic Colombian reality unfolds, the aggressions against human rights defenders once again show an increase. Nine hundred ninety-six (996) individual aggressions were recorded by the Somos Defensores Program in 2021, the highest figure documented by our Information System since 2010, an issue that has been reiterated year after year in these recent reports. Every year we think that our records have reached the limit of horror, but it is not.
Thus, violent actions tend to increase.
