With the goal of strengthening the development of the historical memory component outlined in Law 1448, from the perspective of children, adolescents, and youth, and through audiovisual language, the Mahluna Foundation, Benposta Nation of Youth, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Organization
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), decided to join efforts to develop the project Memories of Peace: Stories Told from the Memory of Youth.
As part of this project, a training process in film and video was carried out, which enabled the start of audiovisual material production.
This was a process of nearly a year of work that began in 2012, resulting in seven photo novels that told stories centered on the experiences and narratives of 22 children and adolescents between the ages of 9 and 19 who have been affected by the Colombian armed conflict. Some stories were real, others fictional, and in them, the participants expressed their worldview, shared internal projections of their experiences, and portrayed their ideals and life projects.
Benposta is an organization dedicated to defending and promoting the rights of children, adolescents, and young people, creating protective spaces and opportunities for a dignified life, based on active participation and social commitment.
